Who is eligible for free academic access?
The program is designed for currently enrolled students, full-time or part-time educators, and accredited academic institutions in the fields of Architecture, Structural Engineering, and related AEC disciplines. Proof of academic status is required.
Can I use the academic license for commercial work?
No. All academic licenses are strictly limited to non-commercial, educational use only (teaching, learning, research, and personal skill development). Commercial or paid project work requires a professional ideCAD license.
How long does an academic license remain active?
In most cases, academic licenses are granted for a fixed period (for example, 12 months) and can be renewed as long as you continue to meet the eligibility requirements. Use the same form on this page to request a renewal.
Can laboratories and computer rooms use ideCAD under this program?
Yes. University departments and institutions can request multi-seat or lab deployments. Please indicate that you are applying on behalf of an institution in the form below, and our team will contact you to coordinate the best setup.
